About this event
An exhibition dedicated to the art of blurring has opened at CaixaForum, an effect that has become an expressive tool for artists since the time of the Impressionists. Visitors will be able to see how the indefiniteness and soft ambiguity of forms create a new visual reality in painting, photography, video and installations.
The exhibition is based on Monet's Water Lilies series and analyses the influence of the blurring effect in the work of masters such as Giacometti, Richter, Rothko, Thomas Ruff and Bill Viola. The space combines classic canvases and contemporary multimedia works, immersing the viewer in an atmosphere of soft, poetic indefiniteness, where the artistic image is born from blurred contours and nuances of light.
