Exhibition ‘Des-caradas’

Until 26 April, the Villanueva Pavilion at the Royal Botanical Garden hosts the exhibition ‘Des-caradas’, devoted to women whose achievements long remained in the shadow of official history. Curated by Juan Antonio Ramírez and S. S. Leyva, with the collaboration of artist Natalia Dolz, the exhibition presents expressive portraits and images loaded with symbolism that invite viewers to rethink women’s role in politics, science and culture.

The works combine history and a contemporary artistic gaze, and their powerful visual symbolism turns observation into an active reflection on memory, identity and gender stereotypes. The exhibition is also accompanied by educational and interactive programmes that offer a deeper understanding of the context and techniques used to reinterpret the historical legacy.
