«From the workshop to the screen: Balenciaga's legacy» exhibition

This is an exhibition dedicated to Cristóbal Balenciaga, which is not a museum retrospective but a subtle dialogue between fashion and cinema. Eighteen costumes created especially for Disney+'s Cristóbal Balenciaga series are on display on the walls of Universidad de Villanueva. They are not originals, but precise and expressive reconstructions that convey the scale of the designer's thinking and his almost architectural approach to form.

The exhibition, entitled Del taller a la pantalla: el legado de Balenciaga, presents the couturier as both artist and engineer. Through cut, volume and structure, it reveals his key idea: fashion as an independent art, beyond time and trends. The exhibition will be open from 20 January to 12 February and can be visited at two university campuses, complemented by books and rare publications from the period that help us better understand the creative world of one of the leading fashion innovators of the 20th century.
