Exhibition “Debod 1954-1964”
The exhibition brings the Temple of Debod and the history of Nubian communities to life through archive photographs, plans and artefacts, revealing the connection between the monument and the people who lived nearby.

Until 29 March, the Museo de San Isidro opens the doors to the exhibition “Debod 1954-1964”, dedicated to the temple of the same name and its vanished surroundings. It is a journey through plans, ethnographic objects, archive photographs and unusual documents that show the temple in the mid-20th century and the lives of the people who were forced to leave their homes because of the construction of the Aswan Dam.
The exhibition is divided into three parts: “Warning”, “Documentation” and “Transfer”, and makes it possible to follow every stage of the monument’s rescue: from CEDAE’s research and filming to the careful dismantling and transport.
Here visitors can see photogrammetric records of reliefs, copies of hieroglyphs and everyday Nubian objects, which create a living link between the temple and the people who lived nearby. The exhibition reveals the story of Debod as a meeting place between culture, science and human memory, turning the archives into a true visual adventure. Plaza de San Andrés, 2
