Exhibition «Welcome Spring»
The façade of Casa de México in Madrid is transformed into a gigantic floral carpet: hundreds of threads and flowers, created by the hands of Mexican craftswomen, form a living design that welcomes spring and fills the street with life.
About this event
Until 12 April, the building becomes a living urban loom thanks to the women's collective Cielo Tejido, where every thread and flower is the result of meticulous collective work.
Visitors can walk around the façade free of charge, contemplate huge panels of hexagons with flowers in seven shades, and take part in crochet, textile printing and floristry workshops. More than 230,000 metres of fibres, worked on for three months by 200 craftswomen from Etzatlán (Jalisco), have been used to create the installation, bringing an atmosphere of spring renewal and Mexico's vivid colours to the city.
