«¡Aquí hay petróleo!» Exhibition
The new exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in a visual world in which oil becomes a symbol of progress, power and environmental challenges.
About this event
Until 8 February, Círculo de Bellas Artes hosts the exhibition «¡Aquí hay petróleo!», devoted to the role of oil in the contemporary world. Curators Gemma Barricarte and Jaime Vindel have brought together works by artists who explore oil as a symbol of progress, the global economy and energy dependence.
Visitors will be able to see works reflecting political, ecological and poetic views of oil, its influence on culture and nature, as well as current challenges: the resource crisis, climate change and the contradictions of «fossil capitalism».
The exhibition invites reflection on how energy and nature intertwine with our desires, culture and values, and does so through the visual language of contemporary art: vivid, provocative and current.
