Exhibition ‘Andy Warhol. Posters’

Andy Warhol will cover Madrid with his famous posters! From 12 February to 4 May, Fundación Canal will host the major exhibition ‘Andy Warhol. Posters’, which brings together 133 of the artist’s iconic works, from the first posters of 1962 to the final works of his career.

A pop-art genius who turned advertising posters into art, Warhol celebrated mass culture by showing that Campbell’s soup and the faces of Hollywood stars could be as meaningful as classical paintings. The exhibition presents iconic lithographs featuring Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as a display of an era in which art became part of consumer society.
