How far are we willing to go to explore our inner selves? Almudena Lobera invites the public to immerse themselves in a symbolic experience in which the line between reality and fiction is blurred, and usual notions of space and perception are questioned.

The artist transforms the CentroCentro space into a symbolic immersion between reality and fiction. The sensory intervention transforms the perception of architecture and invites the viewer to experience a profound inner journey.
A key element of the project is the transformation of the glass balustrade in the exhibition hall into a pool of water whose level seems to reach the neck. This visual image becomes a starting point for reflection on the boundaries between surface and depth, the visible and the invisible.
The project creates an effect of palindrome and déjà vu: the viewer oscillates between the rational and the spiritual, the superficial and the inner. Walking through the rooms becomes an exploration of two opposing states.
A special place in the project is occupied by the screen print ‘Where the interior begins’, which depicts a swimming pool with an infinite universe inside it. The staircase next to the water symbolises transition and invites us to reflect on the limits of perception.
