Train of the Windmills

From Madrid, it is once again possible to take a day trip to the famous windmills of Campo de Criptana. The Train of the Windmills returns with a programme combining walks through the old town, local gastronomy and one of La Mancha’s most emblematic landscapes.

The train departs from Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station and stops at Madrid Atocha Cercanías. During the journey itself, the trip becomes a small theatrical adventure: passengers are accompanied by characters from the world of Miguel de Cervantes, creating the atmosphere of the experience.

On arrival, visitors enjoy a tour of Campo de Criptana. The route goes through old neighbourhoods with white and blue houses, traditional troglodyte dwellings and up to the Sierra de los Molinos, where the historic windmills, immortalised in the story of Don Quixote, are still preserved and continue to operate.
