About this event
A new one-day tourist route will depart from Madrid to Tomelloso, where the history of wine is also discovered beneath the houses. Cellars were excavated there to keep wine at a stable temperature, while winemaking and distilleries helped shape the city. On 14 November, you can discover this heritage with "Posada de Vid y Cultura", an excursion organised by Renfe and the Ayuntamiento de Tomelloso.
The journey will begin at Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station at 09:24, with a stop at Atocha Cercanías at 09:40. The train will arrive at Cinco Casas, where passengers will take a bus to Tomelloso. This is not a direct rail connection to the city, but the bus transfer is included in the experience.
One of the stops will be at the Virgen de las Viñas wine and olive oil cooperative. After learning about the production process, visitors can taste wines and Manchego products. The gastronomic tour continues at the central market, where there will also be a tasting. There will be plenty to see and to try.
Between the food stops, participants will visit the Casa de las Artes y las Letras de La Mancha, known as CALMA, the Museo Antonio López Torres, and the Museo del Carro y Aperos de Labranza.
