Excursion to Basilio Avial’s Mansion

At Basilio Avial's mansion, free guided tours will be offered through its luxurious rooms, stained-glass windows and bronze staircases. Normally accessible only to a few, this mansion opens to the public thanks to the «Bienvenidos al palacio» programme, which makes it possible to visit the city's historic buildings free of charge.

Built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the palace combines French Baroque with Spanish Neo-Renaissance. Inside, visitors can see a luminous dome, mosaic stained-glass windows and a grand staircase with bronze details. Nowadays it is the headquarters of ONCE, but on these exceptional days its doors are open to all those who want to discover one of Madrid's most refined and least-known buildings.
