Observation Night at the Planetario de Madrid

On 18 September, you can stay until midnight by the Planetario de Madrid to observe the Moon. More than 20 telescopes will be set up on the esplanade in front of the main entrance for a free evening of stargazing, organised in collaboration with the Agrupación Astronómica de Madrid.

The event will begin at 21:00 with a brief introduction. Afterwards, visitors can observe the Moon through the telescopes, with guides on hand to explain what is being seen. The images will also be broadcast live on large 5 × 3 metre screens. Antonio del Solar, an amateur astronomer and collaborator with the planetarium, will provide commentary during the observation.

The whole family is welcome and no prior registration is required. Access to the observation area, in Tierno Galván park, will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will continue until 00:00, weather permitting. All that's needed is a clear sky.
