Show “Vortex”

In January, the Sala Roja Concha Velasco at Teatros del Canal will become a space of light, shadow and movement: the Russell Maliphant Dance Company will present VORTEX, inspired by the works of artist Jackson Pollock. On stage, the dancers' bodies intertwine with lighting effects, creating the sensation of a living painting in which every gesture reflects the energy of abstract expressionism.

An immersive journey awaits the audience: movement becomes colour and rhythm, shadows become contrast, and the auditorium space becomes part of the artistic canvas. The RMDC dancers, with their virtuosic mastery of the body, turn the stage into a living interpretation of Pollock-style brushstrokes, where light and shadow emphasise the depth and dynamics of each movement.
