Show ‘Una noche sin luna’

At the Teatro Español, Juan Diego Botto takes to the stage with a monologue about Federico García Lorca, directed by Sergio Peris-Mencheta. The performance is scheduled from 30 April to 31 May.

The work is based on texts and statements by Lorca himself: interviews, lectures, excerpts from plays and poems. From this material a monologue is built in which the poet appears to speak directly from the stage.

At its centre are episodes from his life: the years at the Residencia de Estudiantes, the work on ‘La Barraca’, the trip to America, the relationship with the press, creative quests and the subject of freedom, which runs through his entire legacy. Little by little, the image of Lorca takes shape not as a figure from the past, but as an author whose words still resonate today.
