“Summer Puppet” Shows

This summer, the puppet theatre in El Retiro park once again becomes an enchanted corner with the new edition of the Summer Puppet series. Until 17 August 2025, every Saturday and Sunday at 20:00, families, neighbours and visitors can enjoy a free theatrical journey full of stories, laughter and endearing characters.

The programme includes more than five shows by national companies, many of them from Madrid, committed to accessible, sensitive and creative theatre. From premieres such as Cleo and the Sea, which tenderly addresses a girl’s inexplicable anger, to reinterpretations of classics such as The Three Little Pigs, the series blends humour, reflection and fantasy in staging intended for both children and adults. There will also be moral tales, stories inspired by poetry, productions with live music and a final play based on Cervantes, by La Tartana Teatro. Each performance is unique, and the variety of styles, from clowning to actors’ theatre, guarantees a different experience every weekend.

Tickets will be available online every Friday at 10:00, but performances are completely free, making this series one of the most accessible and endearing cultural plans of the Madrid summer.
