The capital hosts the 42nd Festival de Otoño de la Comunidad de Madrid, which brings talented and surprising productions to the stage. One of them is The Seven Streams of the River Ōta.
In 1994, Robert Lepage created a production that illustrates the three scourges of the 20th century. The play’s seven acts tell the intimate stories of anonymous characters who become a reflection of the historical memory of the last century: the Hiroshima bombs, concentration camps, AIDS and other issues. Decades after its premiere, Lepage has revived this dramatic feat, embodied by characters who face adversity with sensuality and laughter.
