What would happen if opera, comedy and musical madness were combined? The answer is offered by the show «The Opera Locos», which returns this summer to the stage of Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío.

From 29 July to 30 August, audiences will be able to enjoy the story of five eccentric opera singers whose seemingly normal audition quickly becomes a succession of entertaining conflicts, unexpected confessions and spectacular musical numbers. Famous opera arias are mixed here with other musical styles, and humour becomes as important a part of the show as singing.
The production by the Spanish company Yllana, known for its visual theatre and wordless comedies, has already won over audiences in dozens of countries and has been awarded the Premio Max for Best Musical Show. «The Opera Locos» offers a vision of the classics without the usual solemnity, turning opera into a dynamic, entertaining and unpredictable spectacle.
