On 7 and 8 February, Centro Danza Matadero will host the world premiere of ‘sORDA’, an autobiographical exploration of deafness and dance by Jone San Martín.
The work takes the viewer into a world in which the body becomes an instrument of listening: movement, gesture, breathing and heartbeats are transformed into a language understandable without words. The stage is filled with live compositions by Manuel Escorihuela and Paola Álvarez, creating a space where inner silence merges with outer sound.
‘sORDA’ explores the limits of perception, combining dance, sign language and music in a poetic and political space that questions customary norms and celebrates difference.
