The play Rêve Cabaret will be performed at Sala Galileo Galilei, transporting the spectator into the world backstage, where the past never stops haunting her and the stage becomes the only place for revelations.
The protagonist, Marlene Bijou, once ran a brilliant cabaret in Paris and filled venues, but today her theatre in Madrid is almost empty. Instead of the former roar of applause, only memories remain, which she decides to relive before the audience’s eyes.
In this improvised return to herself, figures from the past gradually emerge: the pianist François, whose music once set the rhythm of everything that happened, and Madame Chichi, an artist with a complicated destiny and a feeling so intense that it changed the course of events.
The story, which began as a romance, over time becomes a tense drama, and Marlene seems to try to unravel where love was and where betrayal was.
