«Riesgo» Circus Festival

The Riesgo festival returns to Teatro del Canal de Madrid with a brilliant programme of contemporary circus, in which acrobats, jugglers, dancers and musicians create a unique combination of art and risk. From 12 February to 1 March, audiences will be able to enjoy premieres from Belgium, France, Switzerland and Canada, as well as new works by Spanish artists, in which trapeze acrobatics, complex acrobatic acts and theatrical staging intertwine with poetry and humour.

The festival opens with the Canadian work Play Dead, a circus experiment, followed by the surreal Der Lauf by Belgian artists and the ambitious Spanish project Bürstner’s Club, dedicated to the life of nomadic companies. Other premieres include Pandax by the Franco-Swiss company, the musical and circus show Si c’est sûr c’est pas peut-être and the final performance Le complexe de l’autruche.
