The ancient ghosts of Orestes, Electra, Clytemnestra and Agamemnon come alive on the stage of Teatro de La Abadía in the play Oresteia, which can be seen until 4 May.
Directed by Ernesto Caballero and adapted by Karina Garantiva, Aeschylus’ tragedy becomes a lively debate about revenge and justice. Oresteia weaves the characters’ destinies into a bloody web where personal dramas collide with the birth of law. Here the fury of the Furies and Athena’s wisdom sound together, and the audience is invited to reflect: how far have we moved away from ancient courts, and who administers justice today?
