«Our dead» Show
How do you forgive someone who has taken away what is most precious to you? How do you forget the traumas of the past that are passed down from generation to generation? The play immerses the audience in a painful conversation about victims and perpetrators, guilt, memory and the possibility of forgiveness.
About this event
The production returns to the Teatro de la Cuarta Pared stage with outstanding performances by María Álvarez, Carlos Jiménez-Alfaro, Clara Cabrera and Javier Díaz. Their characters tell a story of pain, guilt and the difficult path towards forgiveness.
The plot revolves around an 80-year-old woman who agrees to speak with the former ETA member who killed her son. Their conversation is full of shifts in mood, from calm recollection and irony to pain and tension. Important issues are raised about an era in which ETA’s actions claimed the lives of more than 800 people and destroyed thousands of families.
The story goes beyond the recent past, touching on Francoist repression, which ended the life of an elderly woman’s father and caused the disappearance of more than one hundred thousand people.
«Pendular dialogue» - A tense conversation between victim and perpetrator, where forgiveness collides with betrayal and the memory of the past continues to influence the present.
