Roman market and circus in Alcalá de Henares
Madrid travels back in time to ancient Rome once again to celebrate a circus with gladiator fights and chariot races.
About this event
Madrid will once again host the Roman Market and Circus in Alcalá de Henares, which recreates a Roman circus. The city will once again become part of the Roman Empire for a few days, with Roman legionaries parading through the streets and the arena hosting competitions between gladiators, chariot races and equestrian shows.
In addition to watching the historical re-enactments, visitors will be able to stroll among vendors’ stalls, take workshops or attend guided tours.
The circus show will take place on 30 April and 3 May at 19:30; on 1 and 4 May at 13:00, 17:00 and 19:30; and on 2 and 5 May at 13:00 and 18:00.
