Show «Maldonne. Leïla Ka Company»

On 14 and 15 February, Centro Danza Matadero will present the Spanish premiere of Maldonne, a show by French choreographer Leïla Ka. It is her first collective piece and her fourth creation.

There will be five dancers and forty dresses of different styles on stage, from wedding gowns to everyday garments. The costumes become part of the choreography, move and transform rhythm and space. Through this visual dialogue, the work explores the representation of the female body, its vulnerability, its strength and its capacity for transformation.

Leïla Ka works at the intersection of contemporary and urban dance. In recent years she has collaborated with Beyoncé, Zaho de Sagazan and the Ballet Nacional de Chile, and has choreographed the Premios César ceremony.
