From 5 to 15 February, Morboria theatre invites audiences to Teatro de la Comedia to enjoy its adaptation of José de Zorrilla’s classic Golden Age comedy about love, jealousy and human vanity.
The plot revolves around two orphaned sisters, Serafina and Matea, with opposite characters. The elder, Serafina, is proud and mocks men, while the younger, Matea, is emotional and falls in love easily, creating constant conflict between them. The arrival of the matchmaker Gibaja, who promises an inheritance to the first to marry, sets off a series of comic events: the suitors try to provoke Serafina’s jealousy, and intrigues and rivalries become dynamic, entertaining situations on stage.
