Show «La Quinta en Flor. Hanami: flowers, haiku and circus»

In Japan, «Hanami» means «viewing the flowers». A beautiful description of our feelings and of awakening and blossoming itself, as well as of life itself coming into bloom. One of winter’s most eagerly awaited phenomena has happened: the almond trees have begun to blossom. It is an almost elusive moment that lasts only two weeks, yet it manages to colour the spaces in white and pink tones. Take the time to savour this beautiful moment in Parque de la Quinta de los Molinos. It is home to more than 1,610 specimen almond trees.

Every year, the park’s Espacio Abierto celebrates the flowering of the trees in the Quinta show. This season, La Quinta en Flor is also a circus and festive show in two parts. However, on this occasion, the first is held in front of the palace that houses Espacio Abierto and the second in a large almond grove.

«Hanami: flowers, haiku and circus» will tell the public the story of the Japanese poet Bashuo. Together with his friends, family and pupils, he will celebrate the arrival of «Hanami». There will be harmony, enjoying the dawn with games and dances. It symbolises the transition from winter to spring.
