La protagonista is an invitation to see the body as an archive, refuge and territory of inquiry. On 26 and 27 June, dancer and choreographer Lorena Nogal presents at Centro Danza Matadero a contemporary dance piece exploring identity, memory and vulnerability from a deeply human perspective.
About this event
Far from closed discourses, the proposal is built through movement and stage presence. Every gesture, pause and displacement becomes a tool for investigating what remains hidden: inherited memories, emotional traces and the layers that make up a person. On this journey, fragility ceases to be understood as weakness and is revealed as a source of knowledge and transformation.
The work confirms the artistic singularity of Lorena Nogal, one of the leading figures in contemporary Spanish dance. Recognised for her career with La Veronal and awarded the 2024 National Dance Award in the performance category, the creator has developed a voice of her own based on physical intensity and emotional exploration.
With an approximate duration of 50 minutes, La protagonista offers an intimate and evocative experience in which the body becomes the centre of the narrative. A space to pause, observe and discover how movement can express what words cannot explain.
