Show “La mort i la primavera”

La Veronal returns to Centro de Danza Matadero with a new work inspired by Mercè Rodoreda’s novel. Performances will take place from 15 to 25 January in Nave 11. The staging promises to be atmospheric and intense: spectators will enjoy strobe effects and visual fantasies combining dance and theatre.

The protagonist is a teenage girl who lives in a cruel world, where death becomes a form of release. Director Marcos Morau turns Rodoreda’s novel into a poetic, living action, in which bodies, gestures and images are integrated into the visual story. The show explores the power of nature and humanity’s moral contradictions, creating a contemporary allegory of a life marked by violence and survival.
