«La corte de Faraón» show
At Nuevo Teatro Alcalá, Joseph, Pharaoh’s chaste slave, becomes the centre of comic intrigues and musical passions at the royal court.

On 12 January, Nuevo Teatro Alcalá will open its doors for a performance of the comic zarzuela La corte de Faraón. Fifty artists will perform on stage: soloists, actors, choir and ballet, accompanied by live music played by the orchestra.
The zarzuela, first premiered in 1910, humorously tells the story of the chaste Joseph, who arrives at Pharaoh’s court and becomes the object of attention of the court ladies. The situation becomes complicated with the wife of General Putifar and Pharaoh’s own wife, giving rise to comic and intricate romantic intrigues.
