Performance «The adventure of the word»

Until 22 June, in the Sala Jardiel Poncela del Centro Cultural Fernán Gómez, the work by Juan Carlos Pérez de la Fuente is being staged, a dedication to Fernando Fernán Gómez, based on his celebrated academic speech «The adventure of the word» in the 20th century.

The play was written by Raúl Lozanes, with Nancho Novo y Marta Poveda on stage. It is not merely a production, but a reflection on language as a living instrument: the spoken and written word, its sound, its density, its magic. Fernand Gomez appears here not only as a writer and actor, but as a man for whom the word was a theatre in itself. The performance restores his voice and renews the debate on language as art.

The premiere coincides with the 25th anniversary of his admission to the Real Academia: a symbolic occasion to remember the master and the power of the word, which can be both poet and jester.
