Musical “Godspell”

The iconic musical Godspell, directed by Antonio Banderas, returns to Madrid. The production combines vaudeville, magic, puppet theatre and rock to tell the story of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew in a new way and show how the themes of friendship, tolerance and collective creation remain relevant today.

Fourteen actors accompanied by a live band will perform on stage, including Angy Fernández and Roko, who will perform the famous numbers Day by Day, Prepare the Way and A Beautiful City. The plot begins with a young theatre company rehearsing in the courtyard of an old neighbourhood, but little by little the play transforms into a metaphorical journey in which the characters confront memories, encounters with Jesus and personal discoveries.
