Yllana show “FlamencOh!”
What do you get when flamenco, gestural theatre and comedy are combined? The answer can be discovered this July on the stage of the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío, where the show “FlamencOh!” will premiere.

Flamenco, pantomime and comedy will come together on one stage: from 1 to 26 July, the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío will host performances of the new show “FlamencOh!” by the Spanish theatre company Yllana.
The play offers a different view of flamenco. Instead of a traditional concert, the audience will find a theatrical show in which body language, live music, dance and visual humour combine to shape an original stage production. Throughout the performance, some of the most representative moments in the history of flamenco are explored, reinterpreted with contemporary rhythms, unusual characters and comic situations.
“FlamencOh!” has been created in collaboration with the London theatre Sadler’s Wells and is intended for a very diverse audience, including those approaching Spanish culture for the first time. Its creators seek to demonstrate that flamenco can retain its essence while also engaging in dialogue with contemporary forms of expression.
Founded in 1991, Yllana is one of Spain's best-known companies of gestural theatre. Its shows have been performed in more than 40 countries and have received numerous national and international awards thanks to a style that combines humour, rhythm and a stage language accessible to all kinds of audiences.
