Free theatre at the Casa Museo de Lope de Vega
Exciting open-air family theatre will reopen its doors at the Casa Museo Lope de Vega.

Every weekend in July, children and their parents will be able to enjoy free plays with Golden Age elements each weekend. Lope’s own idea was that theatre should be for all audiences. And now families will be able to see, completely free of charge, the entire cycle that the theatre offers for all ages.
The museum’s idyllic garden will be filled with stories and fairy tales in which the protagonists are puppets and four troupes. In addition, the plays contain references to the Golden Age, such as «The Tales of Dulci and Nea», by Teatro Varia. In it, two sisters who live in Lopu’s house will tell the audience their greatest secrets. Other exciting plays will be «The Very Knight», by La Máquina Real, a puppet show in which children will learn about the adventures of Don Quixote; and «Lope with the Mineral», by Georgina de Yebra, based on the Japanese kamishibai theatre technique, which tells the story of «Dama Boba» and Lope’s poem «Gatomaquia».
