Poet, dreamer, swordsman and rebellious spirit, Cyrano de Bergerac lives with his sword and his heart laid bare. He is passionately in love with the beautiful Roxane, but his own insecurities are his most formidable enemy. His nose seems to him an insurmountable obstacle that prevents him from confessing his feelings.
But fate plays a cruel joke on him: Roxanne is infatuated with Christian, a handsome young man who lacks the gift of eloquence. And Cyrano, hiding his pain, becomes the voice of another’s love: he writes impassioned confessions that win Roxanne’s heart. Thus is born a bond that turns the hero into a prisoner of his own poetry.
Director Paloma Mejía offers a dynamic, relevant and moving interpretation of Edmond Rostand’s classic, preserving the spirit of the original while giving it a fresh pace and a contemporary sound.
