«Cibeles, the ritual» show by the Spanish Ballet of the Community of Madrid
The Ballet of the Community of Madrid will present for the first time a show about the goddess of the earth and the young Attis, in which Spanish dance merges with classical myth and symphonic flamenco.

From 9 December to 3 January 2027, the Sala Roja «Concha Velasco» at Teatros del Canal will host the world premiere of «Cibeles. El ritual». The production combines Spanish dance with classical mythology, flamenco and contemporary stage creation.
The plot is inspired by the legend of the goddess Cybele, mother of the earth and creative force, and the young Attis. Artistic director Mónica Fernández and choreographer Miguel Ángel Corbacho use this story to construct a tale of love, devotion and transformation, in which desire and loss do not represent an ending, but the beginning of something new.
The choreography draws on the traditions of Spanish dance and carries them into a contemporary stage language, while passion, jealousy and redemption find expression through movement. The work is accompanied by a symphonic flamenco score that creates a meeting place between tradition and contemporary creation, turning the stage into a kind of ritual.
