Show «Chulíssima: a journey through the nights of the cuplé»

At Espacio Gran Vía, a musical show is being prepared that recaptures the atmosphere of the copla, a genre in which music, wordplay and light provocation have always gone hand in hand.

Chulíssima transports the audience to the beginning of the 20th century, but without the distance of a museum. It is a live stage performance, where old cabaret motifs sound renewed and the usual aesthetics of the copla receive a contemporary interpretation.

At the centre of the show is Fabbie Brownie, who leads the evening through songs with ironic lyrics, double entendres and theatrical staging. The show is structured around the figure of an artist for whom not only the songs are important, but also the way of communicating with the audience through gestures, looks and pauses.

The project combines elements of classic vaudeville and contemporary performance, retaining the character of the genre: light, daring and a little playful. Humour, music and the stage intertwine in it, where everything is based on suggestion and the rhythm of cabaret of old.
