Performance «Calentamiento»

At Centro Danza Matadero, flamenco dancer Rocío Molina presents a flamenco work centred on the moment when the spark of creation arises, that time before the performance when the body begins to come to life and artistic energy becomes tangible. For this project, Molina joins playwright Pablo Messiez, musician Niño de Elche and the Cabosanroque collective, inviting the audience to accompany her on a journey through the origin of creative impulse, just before everything unfolds on stage.

With a staging that combines closeness and performative intensity, Molina turns physical preparation into a narrative about desire, vitality and resistance. Accompanied by a group of female flamenco singers, she creates a space where every initial gesture already contains the seed of an ending, and every conclusion becomes a reason to continue celebrating the energy of flamenco.

Recognised as one of Spain’s most innovative artists, Rocío Molina once again demonstrates her ability to reinvent flamenco, turning an everyday act such as warming up into a poetics of movement that hypnotises and surprises.
