«Arte, pasión y solera» theatre production

This year, Japan is the guest country at the Veranos de la Villa Festival. Madrid immerses itself in Japanese culture and learns about its traditions. One of the features of this wonderful country is its remarkable theatre.

In 1998, Arte y Solera was created, a flamenco dance company formed by Mayumi Kagita e Hiroki Sato, which seeks to create flamenco works in Japan in order to bring together the cultures of both countries. It turns out that flamenco is widespread in Japan, where tradition and technique are respected.

The company will also perform traditional works of ningyo joruri (puppet theatre) and kabuki, naturally in the flamenco genre in Japanese.
