Musical ‘The Royal Gag Orchestra’

Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío presents The Royal GAG Orchestra, a show by Yllana and Sing_Us, the creators of productions such as PaGAGnini, Maestrissimo and The Opera Locos. This time, they turn the performance of a symphony orchestra into comic chaos, in which classical music serves as a pretext for stage absurdity.

According to the plot, the explosive conductor Josef von Ramik takes charge of the prestigious Royal Orchestra, an ensemble with a nonconformist spirit. From the outset, it is clear that this will not be a quiet concert: guest violinist Gaspar Krause appears on stage, as famous for his talent as for his oversized ego. Their rivalry quickly turns the performance of classical works into a real battle on stage, where it is impossible to predict the next twist.

The show combines high-level musical performances, Yllana’s characteristic physical theatre and dynamic interaction with the audience. All of this makes familiar classical melodies sound completely different.
