Spring of Dreams: the origin of Christmas

This winter, the Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden will host an enchanted Christmas space where visitors can immerse themselves in a true fairytale world. This year's theme is dedicated to the origin of Christmas and the first winter dreams.

Visitors will find interactive areas, shows, themed activities and a welcoming canteen. The entire venue will become a true Christmas tale, full of lights, decorations and legendary characters.

The event's story is inspired by «The Fountain of Dreams», the place where the wishes of children around the world are kept and where the guardians of Christmas live: Father Christmas, elves, magical beings and the custodians of the Great Magic Book. According to legend, this book opens thirty days before winter to gather new dreams, then closes again, keeping them until the following year.
