Festival ‘Soundset’

At the Conde Duque cultural centre, on 12 and 13 June, the Soundset Festival will take place, a renewed version of the music series that premieres for the first time as an open-air summer festival.

The project maintains its focus on contemporary electronic music, but now the sound crosses the boundaries of the intimate format and becomes more physical and spatial, with an emphasis on dancing, live dynamics and interaction with the audience.

On 12 June, the programme will open with a back-to-back set by Dj Python and Loidis (Huerco S). This will be followed by rhythmic, experimental Brazilian electronic sounds from RHR, as well as a performance by MALA, one of the key figures in dubstep and the contemporary electronic scene.

13 June will begin with the experimental set of Carne_kddo, from the Madrid collective Lágrima. This will be followed by Tracey’s hyperpop and bass experiments, as well as a live performance by Nick León, who will present new work related to contemporary Latin American electronic music.

The festival will close with DJ CCL, whose sets combine post-punk, bass, techno, house and footwork, creating a dense, multifaceted sound with abrupt transitions and gentle climaxes.
