Proximity Week in Madrid

Madrid has a large number of international brands, but even more local and traditional shops that remain unknown to most people. For this reason, the capital will host the NESI Forum “Proximity Week”, which aims to discover the best local initiatives.

More than 50 companies, associations and NGOs will take part in more than 70 events focused on specific themes: urban regeneration, sustainable food, neighbourhood life and the local economy. An extensive programme awaits, with walks through the districts of Usera, Carabanchel, Villa de Vallecas, Vicálvaro and Barajas, courses on transforming public space and various initiatives aiming to reflect the importance of recovering and redesigning urban spaces as places for living together.

The forum will also include workshops and talks focused on organic food and aimed at consuming local and healthy products. Ideas intended to foster relationships between neighbours will be presented.
