«LIBROMAD» Festival

From 23 to 26 April, LIBROMAD will be held in Madrid, a new Book Week that emerges from the «Night of Books» and brings together libraries and bookshops from across the region.

The programme takes place under the motto «The Borders of Books» and proposes considering reading as a process that transcends the pages and continues through interaction and shared events. Libraries and bookshops become spaces where this experience is built and transformed.

Over four days, more than 400 activities are planned in 100 towns and cities across the region, including Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, Colmenar Viejo and San Lorenzo de El Escorial. More than 130 bookshops, 120 libraries and nearly 300 authors and artists are taking part.

The closing will take place on 26 April at Plaza de España in Madrid. From 10:00 to 15:00, there will be a collective reading with hot chocolate, the gathering «Reading to See the World Again», the Billy Boom Band family concert, the literary performance «Who Is Celeste Baker?» and a performance by the group Alberto and García.

Throughout the day, there will be a children’s area with workshops, as well as a mini book fair organised by the Madrid Booksellers’ Guild.
