XXX Continuous Reading of Don Quijote
On 23 April, a reading of «Don Quijote» will begin at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, lasting for almost two days and featuring different voices taking turns.
About this event
From 23 to 25 April, the XXX Continuous Reading of «Don Quijote» will take place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. This year, the event coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the initiative itself and the centenary of the building.
The reading will begin on 23 April at 18:00. It will be opened by Gonzalo Celorio, winner of the 2025 Premio Cervantes, after which the text will be read without interruption for almost forty hours. Participants will take turns reading the novel aloud.
The programme is complemented by events open to the public. On 24 April, the «Conferencia Majara» will take place on the subject of madness in culture. That same night, the performance «de noche de plata hacia» will be held, with the participation of María Salgado y Eddi Circa. On 25 April, the masterclass «Don Quijote sonoro» is scheduled, dedicated to work with sound effects.
In this edition, the reading will be accompanied by musical and visual elements. Some fragments will be performed in experimental formats.
