«FILMADRID 2026» International Film Festival
In June, Madrid becomes a journey through cinematic stories that tend to remain on festival screens and rarely reach the wider public.

From 5 to 14 June, the 12th edition of FILMADRID will be held in Madrid. Screenings will take place in several venues around the city, including La Casa Encendida, Cine Doré, Filmoteca Española and Cineteca Madrid.
The festival brings together films of different formats and lengths, but with one common feature: an auteur perspective and an active international festival life. This is cinema that tends to be more present on the festival circuit than in regular distribution.
FILMADRID champions new auteur and experimental cinema, showing works in Madrid that rarely reach Spanish audiences.
The programme has two competitive sections. The Official Section includes international premieres. SMART7 is devoted to European debuts and young directors working with unconventional formats.
This year, SMART7 presents the debut by Anxos Fazáns, «As liñas descontinuas (The Dashed Lines)», the story of the encounter between a woman in the midst of divorce proceedings and a trans man going through a moment of personal crisis.
