Madrid Summit «International Human Rights Conference»

Madrid Summit 2026, an international conference on the human rights of the LGBTIQA+ community, will take place in Madrid on 3 July. The event will be held at the offices of the European Parliament and the European Commission in Spain, where activists, politicians and experts from different countries will gather.

The forum has been held since 2017; it emerged during WorldPride in response to growing threats to the rights of LGBTIQA+ people in different regions of the world. Since then, the Madrid Summit has become a space where not only situations in specific countries are discussed, but also general trends, from legislative changes to the rise in discriminatory practices.

In 2026, participants will focus on the global landscape: how the community’s situation is changing, which risks are intensifying and which protective tools work today. The focus of the discussions will be the exchange of experiences between countries and the search for joint solutions.

The programme includes debates, presentations and an exchange of practices among human-rights defenders, representatives of institutions and international organisations.
