Living Nativity Scene of Buitrago del Lozoya

This winter, Madrid invites you to one of its most atmospheric Christmas events: the living nativity scene of Buitrago de Lozoya. This nativity scene is a true tradition that has existed for many years and is recognised as a regional festival of tourist interest. An excellent option for a family outing.

The nativity scene will be open on several days in December. Hundreds of actors, as well as numerous animals, bring the setting of biblical times to life.

The nativity route extends for more than one kilometre and includes many carefully crafted scenes. Visitors can see the occupations and activities of Jesus’ time: pottery, weaving, agricultural work and other scenes recreated with great attention to detail.
