“Chulapismo” traditional styling workshop

At Serrería Belga, they will examine what San Isidro attire is like today and what remains in it of old Madrid.

The “Chulapismo” workshop, led by stylist Anitta Ruiz, will take place on 25 April. It will explain what the chulapo and chulapa look is like, how the details of the costume have changed and why it continues to appear in street fashion during the festivities.

The format of the meeting is dynamic and practical. Participants will be shown different modern interpretations of the traditional costume, designers’ proposals will be analysed, and it will be explained how to create a personal version without following strict patterns, while starting from Madrid tradition.

Admission is free until capacity is reached. Registration opens one hour before the start at Serrería Belga itself.
