Madrid launches an unusual project: Charlas con altura, a series of intellectual gatherings at the top of the Moncloa lighthouse with an impressive view of the city. As part of the “21 Distritos” programme, leading cultural figures discuss important subjects 100 metres above the ground.
On 31 March, journalist Marta González Novo will speak about the mystical side of Federico García Lorca. On 26 May, writer Cristian Alarcón will give a talk on “botanical masculinity” in the expeditions of the 18th and 19th centuries, and on 2 June he will discuss cyborg masculinity and science fiction.
Conversations from the heights is an opportunity to look at culture from a new angle, literally and figuratively.
