Villanos del Jazz concert cycle
From September to December, the Villanos del Jazz cycle will take place in Madrid, featuring concerts by established artists, performances by young talents, and late-night DJ sessions.
About this event
This autumn, Villanos del Jazz will offer several dozen reasons to enjoy live music in Madrid. From September to December, its programme will bring together jazz, soul, funk, flamenco, and electronic music. You don’t need to know every style in advance: you can start with whichever concert catches your interest.
The name of the project plays on the word “villano”, which used to refer to a resident of a town or village who was not part of the nobility. The organisers want to bring jazz to a diverse audience, so the line-up includes both established musicians and new talents. Most of the autumn programme is linked to the JAZZMADRID festival.
The main venue will be Sala Villanos, formerly Sala Caracol, although there will also be concerts in other spaces. In addition to live performances, there will be music sessions for dancing until the early hours. Tickets are available on the project’s website, where you can check the venue for each event.
